Urbanization Strategy for Developing China's West

改革开放以来 ,虽然我国西部地区的城市化进程有所加快 ,但是如果与东部地区 ,或者是与其自身的经济发展水平相比 ,仍滞后许多。因此 ,加快西部地区城市化进程已刻不容缓。

although the process of urbanization in the western region of China has increased ever since the country turned on the course of economic reform and opening its economy to the world, compared with the eastern part of the country, or even with the level of economic development in this same region, it is still lagged behind. It therefore allows no delay in speeding up the progress of urbanization in this region.
