It was proved that the newly selected Pleurotus ostreatus strain PL-A 2 was an early-maturing strain, and that its mycelia could grow at 5～37℃, the suitable temperature for its mycelia growth was 18～30℃ and the optimum temperature was 25～28℃. Its mycelia were robust, regular and pure white with strong vigour on the fermented apple dregs compost, it took only 22d±1d for its mycelia to fill the culture-bag. Through extensive cultivation, it was proved that PL-A 2 was a superior strain with excellent quality and high yield.
