Furniture Styles of the Ming and Qing Dynasties and Contemporary Furniture Designing in China

通过对中国明清家具风格及艺术成就的讨论 ,对比日本家具及室内设计风格的发展 ,提出中国当代家具的设计应在研究学习传统做法的基础上开拓创新 ,要从造型手法和艺术神韵中提取明清家具的精髓 。

Having discussed the styles and the artistic achievements of the furniture in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, we compare the development of furniture and interior designing in Japan with that in China and make a point that the contemporary Chinese furniture designing should be advanced in a pioneer spirit by studying the traditional techniques. We can improve our native furniture designing by deriving a lot of benefits from studying the molding techniques and the artistic essence of the Ming and Qing Dynasties .
