The research dynamics on Criteria and indicators for sustainable forest management is expounded and the necessity to establish the criterion and indicator system for sustainable management of Water Resource Conservation Forest in Qilian Mountains is analyzed. The criterion and indicator system is suggested, including 7 criteria and 28 indicators. For the purpose of approaching theoretical basis for rational management, protecting the natural forest resources to maximum degree and gaining better ecological, economic and social benefits.
