林语堂英文译创作品中的中国文化形象研究 被引量:6

摘要 以跨文化形象学理论为观照,从文本选择、译创策略以及输出效果三个方面分析林语堂在其英文译创作品里如何系统、客观、真实地向西方构建中国文化形象。在文本选择和编排上,林语堂集中塑造了经典文本和抒情哲学两种主题形象。在译创策略上,林语堂强调语言杂合和文化对话,在东西方两种语言和文化中突出中国文化形象。从输出效果来看,林语堂英文译创作品在海外的广泛传播以及持续至今的国际影响力都证明了他对中国文化形象的成功构建。这其中既反映了他本人的文学观,又体现了他敏锐的读者意识,还离不开出版商的准确定位,对当下中国文化形象的海外输出有着非常积极的现实意义和启示作用。 Based on the theory of imagology,this paper explores how Lin Yutang reconstructed the cultural images of China systematically and objectively in his English transcreations from the perspectives of his text selection and his transcreation strategy,as well as their effects.It reveals Lin’s text selection of classical texts and lyrical philosophies and his transcreation strategy of hybrid and dialogue in the presentation of Chinese cultural images.It further points out that the sustained international influence of Lin’s English transcreations across the ages itself suffices to prove his success in the reconstruction of Chinese cultural image,which is closely related to his literary view and keen consciousness of his readership,as well as the effective marketing strategy of his publishers.Lin’s success also provides us a model for the Chinese cultural images to reach the whole world.
