Cultural development is an important question in the course Chinese modernization How can we developour culture to the progressive cutural direction in the new century?First,weshould protect cultural sovereinty and construct a culture both world oriented and with chinese characteristics.Second,the relation between traditional and modera cultures must be well handled.Third,the relation between the classic and popular cultures should be dealt with properly.And fourth and last,cultural consumption should be manageg and guided.
