Based on the background of oversea stock index futures market, this paper conducts a comparative study of oversea stock index futures market from such different perspectives as cause of stock index futures market appearance, index futures construction, risk management. Characteristics of stock index futures market have been summarized in this project. Enlightening guidance of developing China's stock index futures market has also been put forward in this article.
