科学与艺术是人类文明的一双奇葩。科学以严著称 ,艺术以美彰显 ;前者是逻辑的推理 ,后者是灵感的产物。纵观它们的发展 ,实际二者必然殊途同归 ,因为最后无论科学文化还是人文文化 ,都归结为人的文化 ,是作为一个完整的人所不可缺少的必要本质而存在的。知识经济时代 ,是一个要求人全面发展的时代 ,科学与艺术的关系更成为突出的主题。

Science and arts are the magnificent symbols of human civilization. The science is characterized by strictness while arts embody beauty. The former is dependent on a logical reasoning. The latter is a result of inspiration. However, after an overview of their historical development, we can in fact find that they have been pursuing the similar target from different paths. Apparently, both the scientific culture and the humanist culture will at last mean a human culture that serves as the elementary nature of human being. The era of intellectual economy is such an era that requires an overall growth of human being. The relation between science and arts thus becomes a prominent theme for this era.
