从科学观的角度看洋务运动

中国近代革命史不仅仅是暴力对抗的历史 ,同时也是伴随着科学启蒙与文化交流的历史。洋务运动是一场引导社会变革的科学活动 ,它首先在 2 0 0 0多年来封闭社会中打开了一个缺口 ,被迫引进了一种新的生产力 ,使中国这样一个专制的封闭社会结构开始向一种可溶性的社会结构转化 ,这是一场渐进的思想革命和渐进的社会革命。伴随着屈辱历史的洋务运动却是对以往专制”盛世”的超越。从洋务运动到戊戌思潮以至于后来的辛亥革命、五四运动……直至今天的改革开放顺次展开了一幅递进的历史画卷 ,而洋务运动是这一系列历史超越的发端。

Modem Chinese history is not only a history of violent confrontation but also a history of cultural communication and scientific enlightenment. Westenization movement is a scientific campaign leading to social chang. It opened the door of a whole society for 2,000 years. From then on, China had to accept a new productive force and turned itself into a country with new structure and system from an autocratic and dosed state. So Westernization movement is a gradually advancing revolution both in thinking and in society. Although this movement was accompanied with humiliation, it accomplished more than any other flourishing age. All the movements from the Westernization movement, the Reform movement of 1898, the Revolution of 1911, the May 4~ th Movement of 1919 to today's open policy unfold a progressive and historical picture. And the Westernization movement is the source of all these advancing movements.
