魏晋南北朝时期是咏史诗得到长足发展的时期。这时期的咏史诗 ,根据有无寄托 ,可分为赋体咏史诗和比体咏史诗两类。曹植的《怨歌行》是中国诗歌史上第一首较成熟的有寄托的咏史诗。左思的《咏史》八首是这时期咏史诗的一个高峰。
