To Probe into the impact of preoperative skin preservation without hair-razing on puncturing site infection rate, 220 patients underwent cardiac intervention treatment were divided into both test and control group randomly. The day before their operation, patients of the two groups either washed their skin with soap water or bathed. Patients in test group irrigated their perineum with 1∶2 000 chlorhexidine solution 2 h before operation and only had some pubes cut, since these pubes might possibly affect the surgical manipulation. Patients in control group routinely had their pubes and fine hairs cut and irrigated their perineum with clean water 2 h before operation. The incidences of puncturing site postoperative infection in the two groups were observed and compared. Results showed that there was no statistical significance between the two groups in terms of incidence of postoperative puncturing site infection (P>0.05). Suggested that it would not increase the postoperative puncturing site infection in patients underwent cardiac intervention treatment even if they did not have their pubes cut as they preserved skin before operation.
