论福克纳笔下沃许悲剧形象的寓意

On the Implication of the Tragic Potrait in William Faulkner's Fiction Wash

文章结合南方的历史与文化,对福克纳小说中处于社会底层的穷白人沃许悲剧形象做了全面而较为深刻的分析,指出福克纳通过塑造这一人物形象,一方面对以沃许为代表的南方穷白人的生存状况给予深切的同情与关注;另一方面致力于人生哲理的思考:即,人要成为真正意义止的“人”,就必须享有人的尊严,必须有人生正确的信仰,而这一点正是小说《沃许》主人公形象的寓意之所在。

With reference from the history and culture of old South, this thesis offers a full and deeper analysis of the tragic figure, a down-trdden poor white, in Faulkner's fiction Wash. Through the portrayal of he figure, on one hand, the author intends to show great sympathy and conecrn with the whites with low status, on the other hand, he devotes himself to the exploration of the essence of human being, namely, being a man in real sense, he should have dignity and righteous belief. In the latter lies the implication of the fiction.
