An Elementary Exploration into the Historical Ideology of Moore

《民主和专制的社会起源》是巴林顿·摩尔的史学代表作 ,表达了摩尔全球政治现代化呈多线流变的历史观 ,以及历史因果关系上的“社会结构决定论”。其中蕴含不少有价值的史学思想 :第一 ,强烈的时代感和理论创新精神 ;第二 ,可贵的全球史意识 ;第三 ,强调社会发展的多样性 ;第四 ,重视历史发展的持续性。当然也存在阶级偏见 。

《Social Origins of Dictatorship and Democracy》is the magnum opus of Barrington Moore,in which Moore expounded his own conception of history ,i.e.the modernization of global politics is to be realized in multithreads which may change from time to time,as well as his'social structural determinism'.In which quite a few valuable ideologies on history are implied:first,a strong period feel and an innovating spirit of theory;secondly,a praiseworthy consciousness of global history;thirdly,emphasis on the diversificatien of social development;fourthly,attention to the continuity of historical development.However,it goes without saying that there exists some kind of class prejudice,which should be fully realized and treated objectively.
