Dropping out of college to start his own business, Wu You is currently famous for two reasons. Within e-commerce circles he is known for being the rumored boyfriend of sex toy pioneer Ma Jiajia, while in investment circles he is famous for being a post-90s generation angel investor. After Ma Jiajia became famous throughout e-commerce circles in 2014, a friend of Wu's joked that he was going to introduce him to Ma, soon after this joke ended up becoming a rumor. Meanwhile, his fame in investment circles got its start in August of last year when he established K Angel Investments with famed blogger Charles Xue, more commonly known by his micro-blog name Xuemanzi, to the tune of 20 million RMB. His partnership with the much older Charles Xue is the perfect example of why this young investor has been able to survive so long: his ability to make friends with older more experienced individuals.
