This paper lists many kinds of phenomena that are lack of mathematical literacy in higher mathematics teaching, and presents the significance and three main aspects in cultivation of mathematical literacy. This paper also expounds how to carry out the cultivation of mathematical literacy through changing the traditional teaching modes, improving teaching content, building extra-assisted learning platform, and reforming the evaluation system.
