Translation of Chinese Ethnic Classics and Its Status quo,Problems and Countermeasures:An Interview with Prof.Wang Hongyin

除翻译实践外,目前国内译界对民族典籍翻译研究也逐渐重视起来,但由于国内产生的外译本不多,研究也主要集中在对国外译本情况的考察上。从总体上看,目前中国民族典籍的翻译和研究处于并重的状态。

This paper is based on an interview with Prof. Wang Hongyin, a doctoral supervisor, President of the Translation Association of Chinese Classics and Director of Translation Center of Foreign Languages of Nankai University. Prof. Wang states his viewpoints on the status quo of the translation of Chinese ethnic classics. While the translation circle attaches great importance to the translation of ethnic classics currently, its researching focus mainly lies in the study of overseas translation. All in all, the practices and researches of Chinese ethnic classics translation are both valued.
