The History, Features, and Basic Experience of the Chinese Communist Party in Leading the Youth's Movement since the May Fourth Movement

中国共产党从青年运动中脱颖而出,并发展壮大。在民主革命时期,党领导以青年为先锋队的革命队伍反抗"三座大山"的压迫,取得了新民主主义革命的胜利。新中国成立后,党主要通过共青团来动员青年参加社会主义建设。党始终围绕各个时期的中心任务开展青年运动。随着对青年成长成才规律和青年运动规律认识的深化,党对青年运动的领导逐步走向成熟:从直接领导到渗透性领导,从争取青年到组织青年、团结青年、引导青年、凝聚青年、服务青年。党必须在理论和实践上与时俱进,保持先进性,用科学、完整、发展的马克思主义来指导青年运动,通过青年的核心组织——共青团来领导青年运动;党必须不断改进、改善领导方式和方法,照顾好青年的特点,关心青年,始终代表和维护最广大青年的利益,才能领导好青年运动。

The Chinese Communist Party（the C.C.P.） revealed herself in the youth’s movement and developed. During the course of the Domestic Revolution, taking the youth as pioneers, the C.C.P. led revolutionary people fought against the ＂three stresses＂including Feudalism, Imperialism, and Capitalism and won the victory of the New Domestic Revolution. Since the People’s Republic of China was founded, the C.C.P. has been mainly depending on the Chinese Communist Youth League to encourage the youth to devote themselves in socialist construction. The C.C.P. has been focusing on central historical tasks to conduct the youth’s movements. With deepened recognition on the rules on the youth’s development and movements, the C.C.P. has been leading the youth’s movement in an increasingly mature way： transforming from direct leadership to penetrated leadership, from encouraging the youth to organizing, guiding, uniting, and serving the youth. The C.C.P. must keep pace with the times in both theory and practice and keep advance, so as to guide the youth’s movement with scientific, complete, and developing Marxism and, lead the movement depending on the youth’s core organization—the Chinese Communist Youth League. The C.C.P. must improve and perfect her leading ways and methods, take the youth’s features into consideration, care the youth, represent and maintain most youth’s interest, so as to lead the youth’s movement in a good way.
