Chemokine CXCL12 and its receptors are participated various pathological and physiological processes, such as participated in the inflammatory response and induced cell migration and homing, etc. Moreover, CXCL12 are closely related to the generation, endocrine and degeneration of neural system, etc. Animal experiments and clinical studies have demonstrated that CXCL12 and its pathway have aggravated the injury and promotes reconstruction in the dual role of different periods of ischemic stroke, there is likely to be a new biology indicator to predict recent onset and prognosis of ischemic stroke, and to inaugurate a new way for prevention and treatment of stroke.
