Construct What Kind of Financial Sociology——Reading "Money and Credit:A Sociological Approach" by Bruce G. Carruthers &Laure Ariovich

在《货币与信用:一个社会学的视角》一书中,布鲁斯和劳拉从嵌入性视角出发,对货币体系、信用体系乃至整个金融体系的组织机构、运行机制、历史演化、社会后果进行了系统化的研究,内容涉及金融组织、金融制度、金融市场、金融行为等各个领域。整体来看,金融社会学条块分割的研究现状在嵌入性旗帜下得到了初步统一,体系化的学科蓝图开始确立。但嵌入性并不能代表全部,除此之外的述行学派、政治—文化方法也对金融社会学的发展作出了重要贡献,布鲁斯等人对这些流派的观点则欠缺考虑。

In the book “Money and Credit： A Sociological Approach”, Bruce and Laure gave a systematic research on the organization structure, operation mechanisms, history evolution, social consequences about the monetary system, credit system and also the entire financial system. All of these work were done under the embedding perspective. Overall, their work will lead to a preliminary unify of the present financial sociology research, barriers between different areas are breaking and they are unified under the embedding perspective. The blueprint of a systematic discipline starts to establish. The embedding perspective is not for all, however, performing theory, political-culture analysis and other angles contrib- ute a lot to the development of financial sociology. Obviously, Bruce and Laure considered little about the diversity of perspectives.
