The novel The Great Gatsby explores different types of protagonists＇ loneliness： Gatsby, as a lonely pursuer, finally dies in solitude in the pursuit of love and material wealth ; Daisy, under the influence of the times, becomes a riant but hollow-spirited lady; Nick, as the narrator of the novel, becomes an explorer of loneliness in the course of facing all sorts of solitude.
