Zhang Zhongfa:Dancing with the Dragon for 60 Years

正月初七,沈阳北市场的庙会人头攒动、热闹非常,展演广场更是里外三层围得水泄不通,不远处的平安桥上也站满了观众,大家伸着脖子往人群最中央看去.究竟是什么表演如此人气爆棚呢？只见一条20余米长的彩龙在龙球的引领下,上下翻腾、气势磅礴,变化之多让人目不暇接.手持“龙球”的,是一位年近七旬的老人,虽然头发花白,但是脸色红润、精气神很足,舞起龙球闪转腾挪、虎虎生风,他就是张氏皇苑龙舞龙技艺的传承人张仲发,演出的正是沈阳张氏皇苑龙舞龙队.

Zhang Zhongfa is the fifteenth-generation successor of Zhang-surnamed Royal Dragon Dance.Mis ancestors lived in Shandong.In early years of the Qing Dynasty,his ancestors hraved the journey to Northeast.and settled down in today’s Liaoyang.The dragon dance popular in the south was taken to Liaoyang,and was transformed according to the characteristics and styles of northerners.The "lazy Zhang fiery dragon dance was gradually formed.So far,it has a history of more than 300 years.Zhang Zhongla introduced that after hearing the famous lazy Zhang fiery dragon dance in Shenyang,Huang Taiji ordered the performance of it in imperial palace.Because Huang Taiji liked it very much,his family was invited to perform the dance in the imperial palace in February 2(Lunar calendar) each year.Based on the original performance,a series of new contents and forms were added every year only for the royal performance.Because of much favor,Huang Taiji named it as " Zhang-surnamed Royal Dragon Dance.
