The study takes three Chinese migrants who had migrated from China to Canada and then returned back to China as its research participants.By life history research method, their migration stories are collected and analyzed. The study reveals that the concept of ' space' is frequently used in the participants' narratives, with its special significance to the migration life.Based on the participants' feeling, description and explanation on the space, the concept's content and structure are analyzed and its meanings to the migrants' life are interpreted. An individual space theory is constructed which shows that during the transnational journey, the space is a kind of micro life status which is grounded on participants' personal characteristics and capitals, and is reconstructed by their social practices when interacting and negotiating with other social spaces. The paper gives a research framework for the space study and transnational mobilization in the view of the individual.
