Promoting the characteristic development of regular high schools is the fundamental direction of the development in the new era in China. Characteristic school is formed in the long process of school running with its individual characteristics of peculiarity, high quality, and social identity. The individual history deposits, the reasonable consciousness and the opening ideas of the school leaders are the important foundation for the construction of characteristic school. The practice of No.1 Middle School of Hefei has indicated that developing the research on the development plan of characteristic school, practising the integration of research with work, forging school brand with new system, carrying forward school culture, etc., are the effective countermeasures to construct characteristic school.
