Left Wing Literature Vs Classics——Translation and Reception of German Literature in China from 1937 to 1949

1937-1949年德语文学汉译,总体呈跌落和沉寂态势,汉译数量和规模纵向远不及战前的二三十年代,但译作的翻译水准与质量可圈可点。这一时期译介和接受主要集中在德语"经典"文学与政治意味浓厚的"左翼"反法西斯文学及反战文学作品上。而同一时期的日耳曼学研究,较之二三十年代亦日趋深入和精到。

From the approach of the textual criticism, this paper surveys the situation of the translation and reception of German literature in China from 1937 to 1949. Compared with the thrilling quantities and dimensions in the 1920s and 1930s, the translation of German literature in China in this period is somewhat unimpressive. However, the overall quality of German literature translation in this period is remarkable. In this period, the translation and acceptance confine to classic German literature and the ＂left wing anti-fascist literature＂. The Germanic studies also make profound progress from 1937 to 1949.
