Objective To establish the three-dimensional finite element model of fiber post-core crown in mandibular first molar with different types of defects and their homologous. Methods The mandibular first molar of volunteer was scanned by spiral CT,and then a series of operating softwares, which includ MIMICS10. 01,Multiple Slice Edit,Calculae 3D,Edit Mask in 3D,Geomagic Studio, and Ansys were used to establish the three-dimensional finite element model according to the design principle of prosthodontics. Results The three-dimensional finite element model of different tissues including ceramic crown, post crown, dentine, cementum, pericementum, and alveolar bone have been established and various types of tooth defects repair, which was suitable for biomechanics research with its accurate, clear, visual and integrity characteristic. Conclusion Compared with normal tooth, the model has good similarity in biomechanics and geometry mechanics. This study provides a fast and accurate approach of finite element modeling for clinical oral.
