莫言小说英译本中的语义缺失与补偿

Semantic Loss and Its Compensation in English Translation of the Novels by Mo Yan

语义的构成受语言形式,语言结构,文化内涵,语言环境等多方面因素的影响,因此在两种不同的语言间转换的翻译活动中,语义很多时候就难以得到完整地传递,或多或少会存在语义缺失的情况。文章首先分析了语义缺失的三种原因:语际差异,文化差异和思维差异,并以莫言小说及其译文作为研究文本,阐述了译文中出现的几种较为突出的语义补偿方法:直译夹注,文内增补,类比替换及化隐为显。

The semantic comPosition of language is influenced by many asPects such as the linguistic forms and struc-tures,cultural connotation,the context of situation and so on. In the translation between two different languages,the meaning cannot be comPletely Passed from one to the other and the semantic loss is unavoidable. This article firstly analyses three reasons of the semantic loss：interlanguages difference,cultural difference and difference in mind. And then it Puts the no-vels of Mo Yan and its English translations as the research texts,stating several salient ways of semantic comPensation in the texts：literal translation with interlinear notes,suPPlement in the text,analogical rePlacement and transferring the imPlic-it into exPlicit.
