The Ni-Al intermetallics compounds have many excellent properties, and the ceramics materials such as A1203, TiC, WC have many excellent properties. So the Ni--A1 intermetallics compounds can be compound with the ceramics materials to fabricate the Ni-Al intermetallics compounds/ceramics matrix composites. The Ni-Al intermetallies compounds/ceramics matrix composites exhibited excellent property of the Ni-Al intermetallics compounds and ceramics materials. In this paper, the fabrication process, properties and application, research status and development of the Ni--A1 intermetallics compounds/ceramics matrix composites were introduced in details. In this pa- per, the fabrication process, mechanical property and research progress of the Ni-Al/Al2O3 composites, Ni-Al/TiC composites and Ni-Al/WC composites were introduced. The future development and new type composites of the Ni-Al intermetallics compounds/ceramics matrix composites were analyzed and predicted.
