摘要
本综述在对生物材料的最新应用和功能包装进行简要介绍的基础上,对米兰大学研究团队在可用于食品包装的柔性材料性能增强方面所做的探索性工作进行了总结,特别是对有关纳米结构和涂布技术方面的研究进行了重点探讨。在这些实验中,纳米微晶纤维素、壳聚糖和普鲁兰多糖以不同的方式涂布在不同的薄膜基材上。实验结果证明,经过适当地筛选、研究和改性,纳米生物材料具有巨大的应用潜力,可以提高塑料基体的性能,减少合成塑料的使用,提高食品及饮料包装的安全性和质量。
In this review paper, after a preliminary assessment of the current uses of bio-based materials, and an outline about functional packaging, some of the experimental works carried out within our research group for the enhancement of flexible materials, intended for food applications, were presented and discussed. A special focus was addressed to nano-sized structures and coating technology. Cellulose nanocrystal, chitosan, and pullulan were used in different ways, as coatings on different plastic films substrates. The results obtained always demonstrated the great potential of bio-based materials, properly selected, investigated and used, as a mean for enhancing the original plastic properties, reducing the use of synthetic plastic and improving the quality and safety of packaged foods and beverages.
