A Study on the Chinese-English Translation of Public Signs

公示语是给公众在公共场合看的文字语言,本文着重介绍和分析公示语的应用背景和实用意义,在此基础上指出公示语翻译过程中存在的问题及其原因。本文试图找出一个新的角度去研究公示语的翻译及提供适当的翻译结果,以完善公示语的翻译,提高我国在国际交往中的地位和形象。

Public signs are the languages that are shown to the public.This paper put emphasis on the background,the meaning of public signs.On this basis,the paper describes the problems in the Chinese-English translations of public signs,and tries to find out a new way to study the translation and perfecting the translation of public signs in order to promote the image of our country in the world communication.
