民国时期,美、英两国对我国图书馆事业的发展,影响深远,中华教育文化基金董事会(简称中基会)和管理中英庚款董事会尤其发挥了示范作用,功不可没。同时,两国相关机构、团体和个人也在不同时期、不同方面援助了中国图书馆事业。

During the period of Republic of China, the United States and Britain exerted far - reaching influences in promoting Chinese library cause. Among them, China Foundation for the Promotion of Education and Culture （referred as China Foundation for short） and Board of Trustees of Sino - British Gengkuan in particular had played important roles and made great contributions to it. Meanwhile some relevant agencies, groups and individuals in both countries offered assistance to the Chinese library cause in different aspects at different periods. 17 refs.
