There are many calculation methods for crane lateral load. This paper analyzes and compares two kinds of calcu- lation methods and points out the advantages and disadvantages; it is put forward that the calculation of crane lateral load should be in accordance with the actual conditions of every crane to select the appropriate calculation method and provide guaranteeing for safety in production.
