主权话语中副词的评价功能——以中国外交部发言人有关日本“购岛”事件的话语为例

The Evaluative Function of Adverbs in Sovereignty Discourse: An Analysis of MFA Spokespersons' Discourse on Japan's “Purchase” of the Diaoyu Islands

本研究以中国外交部发言人关于日本"购岛"事件的话语为语料,采用定性和定量结合的方法分析副词在主权话语中的评价功能。研究发现:(1)在111条语料中,中国外交部发言人共计使用了34个具有评价功能的副词。(2)中国外交部发言人主要通过描摹性副词对日本"购岛"行为进行负面评判;采用评注性副词表达对日本"购岛"事件强烈不满的情绪;使用高程度副词、频率副词和时间副词等限制性副词强化了对日本"购岛"行为的谴责,并进一步表达了维护钓鱼岛领土主权的坚定决心。

This paper studies the evaluative functions of adverbs in sovereignty discourse from the per-spective of Appraisal Theory.It is based on the discourse by spokespersons of the Ministry of Foreign Affairsof China on Japan＇s ＂purchase＂ of the Diaoyu Islands.The results show that：firstly,many adverbs that showattitudes and the degrees of attitudes are employed in the sovereignty discourse; secondly, commentaryadverbs are used to show negative emotions toward Japan＇s illegal action while descriptive adverbs can befound in strongly condemning the illegal action;thirdly, the high degree of criticism and condemnation ofJapan＇s action and the firmness of determination in safeguarding the sovereignty of the Diaoyu Islands are ex-pressed by means of restrictive adverbs, such as adverbs of degree, adverbs of frequency and time adverbs.
