戴复古的酬赠诗表现出较为开阔的艺术视野,主题取向丰富,诸如慰人或自怜、刺时及参政、谈诗与论文等,广泛地反映了诗人不同生活时期的生存环境和心态变化,总体上显示出一种较强的感知生活、感悟人生的能力,情感真挚,情致高远,情趣广泛,在中国诗史上具有积极意义。
