浅议乔治·穆南的翻译发展理论在翻译实践中的体现

Georges Mounin's Translation Theory: Evolutive ranslatability Embodied in Translation Practice

除了讨论翻译的可行性外,乔治·穆南的另一大贡献在于他一直用变化发展的观点来审视翻译活动,他认为翻译的可行性是不断发展变化的。从翻译实践方面直接论述及证明穆南的翻译发展理论,则可从以下三方面入手:第一,不可译到可译的转变;第二,已译词汇的再译;第三,新翻译障碍的产生。

Besides the feasibility of translation , Georges Mounin ’ s major translation theory is based on the development of translatability .He pointed out that the translatability has some limits which are evolutive and developmental .In translation practice , we will meet lots of possibilities , such as the transition from untranslatability to translatability , the retranslation of some translated words, even some new translation barriers , all of which embody this evolutive translatability .
