Overview of the public health education association and certification process in the United States of America

随着社会经济的不断发展,公共卫生的重要性日益受到国内高等院校的重视。美国的公共卫生教育模式多样化,涉及的专业非常广泛。在公共卫生专业人才的培养方面,注重专业的交叉性和系统性,把公共卫生继续教育放在很重要的位置。其终极目标是向社会输送一批批高素质、有利于提高全民健康水平的公共卫生专业人才。文章就美国公共卫生教育及资格认证体系的运行情况进行简单介绍,供我国公共卫生教育工作者参考。

With the fast development of China＇ s economy, more and more higher educational institutions have reahzed the importance of public health education. The public health teaching in the United States of America adopts diverse modes and involves extensive contents. It has formed a systematic cross - cutting system, which also emphasizes the continuous education of public health professionals. Its goal is to cultivate and supply exceptional public health professionals so as to improve the overall health status of the na- tion and the world. In this article, we gave an overview of the U.S. public health education system, public health associations, and the rigorous CPH certification and maintaining process, in the hope of providing some references for public health educators in China.
