Based on the condition driving motor used in large-sized and medium-sized water pump, fan for environmental management requires reduced-voltage starting, using Y/△ conversion, a kind of intelligent motor protector was designed to limit the starting current, so as to reduce the impact on the grid as a result of motor starting, which has various motor protection functions, such as overload, stall. The working principle, Y/△ starting process, network communication function, practical application in environmental management of the intelligent motor protector were introduced. The motor protector, using microcontroller and field bus technology, is convenient and enhances the system reliability.
