A Parse on the Chinese and Foreign Depot Concept since Modern Times

"兵站"一词源于日语,是日本军事后勤近代化的产物。日本在引进近代欧洲后勤体制的基础上建立了陆军战时后勤体制——兵站体制,这一体制在袁世凯编练新军的过程中传入中国,并在"民国"军队中得以继承,在概念及相应的职能上打上日本兵站的烙印。中国人民解放军在土地革命战争中建立了兵站,并结合自身需要进行了改造,使之成为中国人民解放军的交通运输保障组织。现代以来,中外兵站的职能趋于一致,均重视平战结合、综合保障和联勤保障。

The word ＂ depot ＂ stems from Japanese. It is the product of the Japanese military logistics modernization.Japanese army of wartime logistics system——depot systemwas established on the basis of the introduction of modern European logistics system. This system was introduced to China by Yuan Shikai in the process of training the new army,and was inherited in the army of the Republic of China,and the concept and functions were affected by the Japanese depot. The depot of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army（ CPLA） was established in the agrarian revolutionary war,and modified the traditional depot according to their own needs,and then it became a transportation organization of the people’s army. The functions of the Chinese and the foreign depot are gradually unified in the modern times. They all pay attention to the peacetime and wartime combination,and attach great importance to the comprehensive support and logistics support.
