Teachers Are More Important Than Teaching Methods——On Ye Shengtao's Love Education Idea

叶圣陶的重要教育理念之一是强调语文教育是人的教育,要解决语文教育中的某些难题,关键还在于教师,教师比教法重要。叶圣陶阐发有关"爱的教育"的理论,认为以情感为媒介的爱的教育是现代语文教育的理想模式:就教学目标而言,爱的教育强调"自主学习","教是为了不需要教";就教学方法而言,爱的教育重视"不言之教"。

One of the important views of Ye Shengtao＇s education is that Chinese education must focus on human beings. The key to solve problems of Chinese education lies in teachers, which are more important than teaching methods. Ye Shengtao believes the love education mediated by emotion is the best model of modern Chinese education. For teaching aims, the love education emphasizes students＇ selfstudy and that teaching is not just to teach; for teaching methods, the love education lays more stress on wordless teaching.
