河南荥阳市官庄遗址西周遗存发掘简报

The Excavation of the Western Zhou Remains at Gnanzhuang Site in Xingyang City, Henan

官庄遗址位于河南荥阳市高村乡官庄村西。北距连霍高速公路约500米，西距荥邙（荥阳-邙山）公路约1000米，南距索河约3000米，枯河自西南向东北流经遗址西北部（图一）。地理坐标为北纬34°51′06″，东经113°22′28″，海拔116米。

In October 2010 through January 2011, for coordinating with the middle course of the South- North Water Transfer （SNWT） Project, Archaeology Department, School of History, Zhengzhou University conducted coring test and excavation to the part of the Guanzhuang Site on the way of the main canal of the middle course, and found remains of the Western and Eastern Zhou, Han, Tang and Qing Dynasties, among which that of the Western Zhou Dynasty were the richest. The main remains of this period were large surrounding ditches （moats）, ash pits, burials, house foundations, ash ditches, etc., densely distributed and yielding abundant artifacts. Guanzhuang Site is another large-scale settlement site of the Western Zhou Dynasty found in the west of Zhengzhou area following the Niangniangzhai Site in Xingyang, and their discoveries are important for the research on the archaeological cultures and the settlement patterns of the Western and Eastern Zhou Periods.
