Some Understanding on the Theory of the Basic Line

无产阶级政党在各个历史时期都要制定基本路线来指导革命和建设。社会主义初级阶段的基本路线是中国改革开放的总设计师、中国特色社会主义道路开创者邓小平领导我们党制定的。它是在新的历史时期理论和实际紧密结合的产物,是理论的发展,是对实际认识的深化。社会主义初级阶段是当代中国最大的国情,最大的实际,是建设中国特色社会主义的总依据。我们正在建设的中国特色社会主义就是初级阶段的社会主义,基本路线就是我国社会主义初级阶段指导各方面工作最根本的方针。我们要把两个基本点统一起来,使之卓有成效地为社会主义现代化建设服务。

At every historical period,it is always necessary to formulate a basic line to guide the revolution and the construction of a proletarian party.The basic line for the preliminary stage of socialism was established by our Party led by Deng Xiaoping,the chief designer of China's reform and opening up and pioneer of the socialist road with Chinese characteristics.It is the product of the close combination of theory and practice at the new period,the development of the theory and the deepening understanding to the practice.The socialism with Chinese characteristics that we are building is the socialism at preliminary stage in China and the basic line is the most fundamental policy guiding the work in all directions at this stage.We should unify two basic points(adherence to the four cardinal principles and implementation of reform and opening up) to serve the construction of socialist modernization effectively.
