Two stories in the part of"Learning Encouragement" in the Three Character Classic are related to people surname Li in Xiangping(present-day Liaoyang). One story goes like this:"There was one who carried fuel, and another who used horns as pegs.Although they toiled with their bodies, they were nevertheless remarkable for their application." The other is:"Ying,at eight years of age, could compose poetry.Bi,at seven years of age, could make an epigram on wei-qi." It was Li Mi who used horns as pegs to hang book;he was great-grandson of Li Bi(a Chinese character meaning "assist). The seven-year-old boy who could make an epigram on wei-qi was Li Bi(another Chinese character meaning"gushed spring water"),the sixth-generation descendant of Li Bi(a Chinese character meaning assist).
