The geological survey operation management and security system based on Beidou Navigation Satellite System has complete independent intellectual property rights and a better monitoring effect,which can implement real-time display of communications and navigation information,communication history and location information query,field investigation personnel communication and positioning,etc.The system can be used by the management departments to inquire the geographic locations and jobs of the field operation workers and to provide decision-making support for the safety and rescue of field operation workers.This paper introduces in detail the characteristics and functions of the Beidou Navigation Satellite System,and then demonstrates through the field test that the system can achieve stable positioning monitor and effective SMS communication in several kinds of natural environment confirming the application advantages of the Beidou navigation satellite system in field geological survey.
