Currency Competitions and Internationalization of the Renminbi

本文梳理了从替代性竞争到区域货币合作的国际货币理论演变,在主权货币国际化内涵的基础上,将货币竞争问题归结为核心竞争力、基础竞争力和环境竞争力三个角度,并在此框架下,从时间脉络和竞争主题入手,综述人民币国际化的代表性文献。本文旨在从货币竞争角度审视人民币国际化的研究脉络与关键问题,为问题讨论和寻求共识搭建平台。

This paper introduces the evolution of international currency theories from replacementcompetitions to regional currency cooperation, and summarizes currency competitions into three aspects, namely,core competitiveness, elementary competitiveness and environmental competitiveness based on the definitionof sovereignty currency internationalization. Under such a framework, this paper surveys the representativepapers of Renminbi＇s internationalizations following the chronological order and themes of competition. Theaim of this paper is to provide a platform for further discussions and developing consensus based on reviewinginternationalization of Renminbi and its development from the perspective of currency competitions..
