敦煌本《十方千五百佛名经》杂考

Notes on the Sūtra of the Names of Fifteen Hundred Buddhas in Ten Directions in the Dunhuang Documents

通过对敦煌本《十方千五百佛名经》的研究,提出敦煌流行的经本是在只有十方各百五十佛名的祖本基础上经过多次改写而成的广本。其祖本可能是《出三藏记集》等经录中记载的《千五百佛名经》。改写不仅增加了佛名的数量,也改变了佛名的性质,由此产生了敦煌流行的"贤劫十方千五百佛名经"之题名。同时本文提出此经(包括祖本和增补本)就其性质而言当属于抄经。

A study on the Sutra of the Names of Fifteen Hundred Buddhas in Ten Directions found among the Dunhuang documents suggests how the sutra of topic took shape. The wide-spread Dunhuang version was adapted many times from the original, which only contains one thousand and five hundred Buddhas＇ names. The original version is supposed to be called the Sutra of One Thousand and Five Hundred Buddhas＇ Names as listed in the Compilation of Notes on the Translation of the Tripitaka, yet the adaptations not only increased the number of the Buddha＇s names but also changed the nature of the sutra, leading to the new title popular at Dunhuang of. Sutra of the Names of One Thousand and Five Hundred Buddhas in Ten Directions in Bhaddakappa. This paper also suggests that the sutra should be regarded as a kind of transcription ofsutras.
