乡土农业知识是一种具有自己独特思维方式、生存环境、表现形态、功能作用的知识体系,现有法律法规、知识文献化、知识教育、知识推广、生态博物馆、民族文化生态村等简单地按照现代科学技术知识的方式、方法将其削足适履地放入现代科学知识的体系进行保护的方法,不能完全消除乡土农业知识发展面临的困境。要有效地保护乡土农业知识并促进其发展创新,必须有更加长远而深刻的眼光,要时刻保持一颗敬畏的心,在充分尊重乡土农业知识本身及其传承者的基础上,采取根本性措施在较大的范围内保持其适合生存发展的气候与环境,使之具备创新发展之基本动力、需求、条件和环境。

The current protective approaches, such as legislation, documentation, education, popularization of knowledge, ecological museum, and ethnic cultural and ecological village just cut the feet to fit the shoes and cannot solve the existing problems that the rural agricultural knowledge faces because it treats the rural agricultural knowledge as the knowledge of modern science and technology.
