The World Mingling Truths with Ideas:On "The Love Song of J.Alfred Prufrock"

《J·阿尔弗瑞德·普鲁弗洛克的情歌》是现代派诗歌的代表人物T.S.艾略特的第一部重要作品。诗人借助丰富的意象和场景的频繁转换真实展现了战前肮脏混乱、精神瘫痪的西方世界的全貌。本文拟从一个全新的视角系统研究这些意象和场景并将其归纳为四个"世界",以期理清该诗的内在结构并证明其思想内容的高度统一性。

＂The Love Song of J.Alfred Prufrock＂ is regarded as the first classic poem of the representative modernist poet T.S. E-liot. Employing images in abundance and frequent change of scenes, Eliot presents a panorama of the filthy, chaotic and spiri-tual paralysis Western world. This paper sets out to analyze those images and scenes of this poem and classifies them into four＂worlds＂,so as to find out its internal structure and prove that it is a unified whole.
