The Vientiane ground station is located on the bank of Mekong River, with a total area of 120,000m2. The con- struction work mainly includes upgrading and rebuilding of the current the station, reconstruction of the main building and dormitory, and a new antenna infrastructure, an electrical substation and road, which will be completed at the end of November of 2014. This is an important foundation and precondition for other ground system construction and has a great importance on the scheduled launch of Laosat-1.
