This thesis studies on the novel Divisadero written by Michael Ondaatje, the Asian Canadian English novelist and poet, based on the view of post-colonialism theory "Other" and "Identity". It attempts to analyze how the writer makes the identity anxiety of the "Other" prominent in the novel under the crossings of time-space and history-presence. Meanwhile, it explores how Ondaatje achieves to blend the pursuit of identity into the multiple plot lines as well as the complicated relationships among characters in order to realize the readability and theoretical research value of Divisadero.
