A Survey of Historical Corpora:Their Types,Compilation and Use

本文回顾了国际上二十多年来历史语料库的创建和相关研究进展。首先概述了与历史语料库创建相关的技术问题:语料库类型、时间框架、语料取样;然后探讨了历史语料在语言研究中的使用方式和业已取得的成果。此外,本文还评述了汉语历史语料库建设的现状,讨论了需要应对的问题。

This paper reviews the development in the compilation of historical corpora and the related studies in diachronic corpus-based linguistic research over the past two decades. It firstly discusses the technical corpus building issues concerning corpus type, time framework and sampiing. Then it introduces some historical corpora and illustrates the ways of using historical corpus as well as the role that historical corpus plays in linguistic studies. Finally, it looks into the achievements made thus far in the compila- tion of historical Chinese corpus and discusses the challen- ges we have to deal with in future.
