This article discusses the necessity ,principles and specific index system on building the performance evaluation indicator system （PEIS） of state owned asset in colleges and universities .It also puts forward the idea of building the PEIS of state owned asset in colleges and universities ,which includes 2 hierarchies （9 items） of qualitative evaluation indexes and 3 hierarchies （20 items） of quantitative evaluation indexes .
